# Warehouses & stock view

> Set up multiple warehouse and service-center locations in BillBasket, and check stock levels at each one from a single multi-location stock view screen.

If your business keeps stock in more than one place — a back-office
warehouse, a service center, or a second shop — BillBasket lets you set up
each one as a **warehouse** and see what's sitting where. You can add as
many locations as you need, and check their stock levels any time without
leaving your billing screen.

<Note>
  Warehouse is an optional add-on module — turn it on from Settings →
  Add-ons (Admin PIN required) if you don't see it in your menu.
</Note>

## Setting up a warehouse

Open **Warehouse** from your menu and add a new location with its name,
address, and phone number. Each warehouse has an active/inactive toggle, so
you can switch off a location you're not using without deleting its history.

## Choosing a sell mode

Every store has a **sell mode** setting that controls how stock at other
locations can be sold:

* **Transfer** — stock has to be moved into a location (In-Store or a
  warehouse) with a stock transfer before it can be sold from there.
* **Direct** — an order can pull stock straight from a chosen warehouse,
  without a transfer first.

Pick whichever matches how your business actually moves goods. You can
change this setting any time from the Warehouse screen.

## Checking stock at a location

The stock view lets you pick **In-Store** or any warehouse from a dropdown
to see that location's current stock — product, SKU, and quantity. It's
read-only and updates automatically as sales, purchases, and transfers
happen, so you're always looking at the current picture.

## Try it: Bali Electronics

<Steps>
  <Step title="Vikram adds a second location">
    Vikram Bali, owner of **Bali Electronics**, opens Warehouse and adds a
    new location, "Bali Electronics — Service Center Warehouse," with its
    address and phone number.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choosing transfer mode">
    Since he wants stock to physically arrive at the service center before
    it can be billed from there, Vikram sets the store's sell mode to
    **Transfer**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Checking stock before moving inventory">
    Before sending any phones over, Vikram opens the stock view, picks
    "Service Center Warehouse" from the dropdown, and confirms it's
    currently empty — ready for the first transfer.
  </Step>
