# Stock transfers between locations

> Move stock between In-Store and warehouses in BillBasket with a stock transfer, track each transfer's status in the transfer list, and keep a full audit trail.

Once you have more than one location set up, you'll need a way to move
stock between them — from In-Store to a warehouse, between two warehouses,
or back again. BillBasket's stock transfers handle this in a few taps, and
keep a record of every move.

<Note>
  Warehouse is an optional add-on module — turn it on from Settings →
  Add-ons (Admin PIN required) if you don't see it in your menu.
</Note>

## Creating a transfer

From the Warehouse screen's Transfers tab, start a new transfer by picking
a **source** and a **destination** — either can be In-Store or any
warehouse you've set up. Then select the products and quantities to move.
BillBasket only offers stock that's actually available at the source
location, so you can't accidentally move more than you have.

## Tracking a transfer

Every transfer gets its own transfer number and date, and shows its
current status in the transfer list — so you can always look back and
confirm a move happened.

## Try it: Bali Electronics

<Steps>
  <Step title="Starting a transfer">
    Ahead of a repair drive, Vikram Bali opens a new stock transfer at
    **Bali Electronics**, setting the source to "In-Store" and the
    destination to "Service Center Warehouse."
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choosing what to move">
    He selects 5 units of a phone model that his technicians will need for
    repairs, then saves the transfer.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirming it went through">
    Later that day, Vikram checks the transfer list, finds the transfer by
    its number and date, and confirms its status shows the stock has moved
    to the Service Center Warehouse.
  </Step>
</Steps>
