# Add-ons & system settings

> Turn optional modules on or off, set your weekly off days, configure Windows startup behavior, and enable the built-in AI assistant.

**Settings → Add-ons** and the surrounding system options cover the
optional modules included in your plan, your store's weekly schedule,
Windows startup behavior, and account-level settings like your Admin PIN
and license.

### Add-ons

Turn optional modules that are included in your plan on or off — such as
Employee HR, Warehouse, or Appointments/Services. Since these add or remove
whole sections of the app, turning one on or off requires your Admin PIN.
See [Admin PIN and permissions](/customer-guide/employees/admin-pin-and-permissions)
for what the PIN protects more generally. Turning on Employee HR or
Warehouse unlocks the corresponding "Employee HR" and "Warehouse" sections
of this guide.

### Non-working Days

Set your store's regular weekly off days — for example, if you're closed
every Sunday, mark it here. This is for your recurring weekly schedule
only; specific one-off holidays (like a festival closure on a particular
date) are managed separately in the Employee HR module's Holidays page —
see [Holidays](/customer-guide/employee-hr/holidays).

### Startup & Background

Windows only. Enable **run at login** so BillBasket starts automatically
when the PC turns on, and **minimize to tray** so closing the window keeps
BillBasket running quietly in the background instead of fully exiting.
Together these keep BillBasket ready at the counter without needing to be
opened manually every time.

### Admin PIN

Set or change the 6-digit PIN that protects sensitive actions like
Settings, Employees, and product edits. See
[Admin PIN and permissions](/customer-guide/employees/admin-pin-and-permissions)
for the full guide.

### License & Account

Manage your BillBasket license and see which devices are logged in. See
[Activating your license](/customer-guide/account-and-licensing/activating-your-license)
and [Devices and login](/customer-guide/account-and-licensing/devices-and-login)
for details.

### AI Assistant

Turn BillBasket's built-in AI assistant on or off. On Windows, it runs
locally on your PC via Ollama rather than sending data to the cloud. This
screen shows whether the assistant is currently set up and ready, and walks
you through a setup wizard if it isn't.

## Try it: James Spa

<Steps>
  <Step title="James turns on Appointments/Services">
    James Fernandes wants to track client sessions, so he opens
    **Settings → Add-ons**, enters his Admin PIN, and turns on the
    Appointments/Services add-on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sets his weekly off day">
    His spa is closed every Monday, so he opens
    **Settings → Non-working Days** and marks Monday as an off day.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enables run at login">
    Since the front-desk PC stays on all day, James opens
    **Settings → Startup & Background** and turns on run-at-login and
    minimize-to-tray, so BillBasket is always ready when Priya needs it.
  </Step>
