# Tracking employee attendance

> Mark daily attendance for each employee in BillBasket from a simple date picker so monthly payroll always reflects who actually worked each shift.

Mark attendance for each employee, every day, from a simple date-picker
screen. Attendance feeds directly into payroll, so a few seconds of daily
entry keeps salary calculations accurate at month-end.

<Note>
  Employee HR is an optional add-on module — turn it on from Settings →
  Add-ons (Admin PIN required) if you don't see it in your menu.
</Note>

## What you can record

For any date you pick, set each employee's status for that day to one of:

* **Present**
* **Absent**
* **Half-day**
* **Paid Leave**

## Fast daily entry

On a normal day, most of your staff show up and work the full day. Instead
of tapping through each employee one by one, use **Mark all present** to set
every employee's status for the day in one tap.

If someone left early, was absent, or was on paid leave that day, select
their name and pick the correct status from the choice chips — this
overrides the "all present" default for just that employee.

## Try it: Sharma Kirana Store

<Steps>
  <Step title="Rajesh opens Attendance">
    Every morning, Rajesh Sharma opens **Employee HR → Attendance** for
    Sharma Kirana Store and picks today's date.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Mark everyone present">
    He taps **Mark all present** so his whole staff, including Suresh, is
    recorded as present for the day in one step.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fix an exception for Suresh">
    Suresh leaves early that afternoon. Rajesh finds Suresh in the list and
    taps the **Half-day** chip to update just his entry.
  </Step>
</Steps>
